Xavier Mary

Artist description

Born in the former steel basin of the city of Liège in 1982, Xavier Mary lives and works in Brussels. He studied at the ERG (Ecole de Recherche Graphique). In 2006, he presented his first solo exhibition Highway Ravers, at the Palais des Beaux-Arts (Brussels).

Since then, he has participated in solo and group exhibitions in places such as WIELS (Brussels), Galerie Christian Nagel (Berlin), Galerie Albert Baronian (Brussels), La Maison Rouge (Paris), Neuer Aachener Kunstverein (Aachen), FUTURA (Prague), Konschthal Esch (Esch-sur-Alzette), Centre d'art contemporain la synagogue de Delme (Delme). Xavier Mary is a young Belgian artist present on the international scene who uses industrial materials that he recycles, transforms to create monumental sculptures and installations that evoke our dying industrial era. Brutal and fascinating works. And behind the sensory reading, there is always a more complex story.
